Thank you every one for a superb

Hastings Borough Bonfire Saturday 14th October 2017!

A huge thank you this year goes to our sponsor Skinners Sheds

www.skinners-sheds.com

And what a great effigy it was - a tribute loved by many including the family of Hastings very own Popeye. ......... How long until our event? So not long until we find out what the effigy will be! Last year we celebrated the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, you can see this and other past effigies here.  BUT..... what could the effigy be this year? Only the effigy team know and we can't wait to see it!

What we do know is the effigy wouldn't be possible without the hard work of our volunteers and the generosity of local businesses. We would particularly like to thank Stamco Building Supplies for kindly donating materials to build the effigy frame and Trade Paints for kindly donating the paint

"Tanaka Hikiri Matzumoto – 5 star "Been watching the bonfire society displays and processions since I was a child. The care and effort they put in to the planning and delivery of their magnificent displays year on year is outstanding and sum up Hastings as a place perfectly. If you ever get the chance to get down during a bonfire society event you will not be disappointed! Bonfire night is the high point of every year in Hastings and is really unmissable! Great work boys and girls x"

Carla Parnell Leach – 5 star "Having been to other 'bigger' bonfires I can still say that Hastings always wins for me! A safe, friendly atmosphere, lots of fun and always a huge amount of dedication. Keep up the good work!"

Luke Mud Richards – 5 star "By far the best bonfire I have ever attended. Highly recommended"

Our FREE event is funded and organised by the efforts of the volunteers of Hastings Borough Bonfire Society.

Consider the cost of attending any paid firework display (Adult £20 at a firework spectacular in a neighbouring county)  and please consider supporting us every £ helps. Please note sales from street vendors do not support local charities or HBBS.   It not organised by Hastings Borough Council, although they have awarded a small grant, as has the Foreshore Trust. We are grateful for the support from many different Council and East Sussex departments including the police, fire brigade and ambulance services, as well as St John's ambulance. The event is supported by many individuals and business who are represented and advertised in our official programme.
