Torch Bat Cutting 2006

The first torch bat cutting session took place over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd April, with a gang of bonfire people working very hard at both cutting the torch bats and transporting them to our dipping site, most of the work was done on the Saturday, a warm and sunny Spring day I'm pleased to say, and then the remainder on Sunday morning, a not so Spring day with rain around lunch time. Refreshments were provided for the workers by other bonfire society members throughout the weekend.
We now have over 1000 torch bats cut and the next job will be making the torches.

Here are some pictures of the cut bats at our dipping site, as usual, click on the pictures for a larger version.

HBBS would like to thank Senlac Scouts for allowing us to cut bats in their woodland.
